DWK instructed in Birmingham City Council fraud conspiracy

R v SB & others | Birmingham Crown Court

DWK Solicitors have recently been instructed in a conspiracy to defraud case currently before Birmingham Crown Court, with trial listed for July 2026.

The case alleges that our client and others conspired to defraud Birmingham City Council, its agents and ratepayers by making unauthorised collections of waste from the premises of a Birmingham-based concrete company, before disposing of it at refuse sites operated on behalf of the council. It is further alleged that the waste was passed off as legitimate material fit for processing under a commercial waste contract.

The case raises complex issues around waste regulation, contractual obligations and the alleged financial impact on the council and its ratepayers.

DWK are instructed for the defence.
