DWK instructed in high-profile Essex Boys murder review
CCRC Referral | R v JW & MS | Court of Appeal
DWK Solicitors are instructed in one of the most high-profile criminal cases in recent British legal history, representing Jack Whomes as the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) conducts a fresh review of his conviction.
Jack Whomes and Michael Steele were given life sentences in 1998 following their conviction for the shooting of Craig Rolfe, Tony Tucker and Pat Tate in a Range Rover near Chelmsford — killings that became widely known as the Essex Boys murders. The case has attracted significant public and media attention over the years, with questions surrounding the convictions having persisted since the original trial.
The CCRC is now reviewing the convictions once more, raising the possibility that the matter could be referred to the Court of Appeal.
DWK represent Jack Whomes and are committed to pursuing every available avenue on his behalf. Further updates will follow as the review progresses.
